Sunday 10th May was the Charity Grants day at Redditch where a total of £19,000.00 was distributed to local charities. The theme for this year was primarily aimed at youth groups and charities supporting young people. In all 13 charities were recipients of grants including Fisher House and The Mary Stevens Hospice, the Provincial Grand Masters Chosen Charities for Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
The cheques were presented by W Bro Peter Clarke APGM Warwickshire and W Bro Del Padmore APGM Worcestershire.
Each recipient gave a brief presentation of what they did to help young people develop life skills or cope with problems either medical or emotional. All the money is raised by the Lodges and units meeting at the Redditch centre. The recipients were then treated to a splendid afternoon tea.
The charities supported were: Touchstones, Air Cadets, Sea Cadets, Indigo Arts, Girl Guides, Scouts, YMCA Redditch, Alcester Utd Summer Camp, Your Ideas, Sandycroft & The Old Needlework’s Foundation
